Revenge of the Two-Headed Turtle
Heh, one month passes so quickly! How I hope the summer doesn’t go as fast...
On Monday, which all of you know was Memorial Day, was jam packed for me. I got up around 6:00 to prepare for the parade. At around 8:15 we then left to go get our uniforms, then hurried to the spot where we were going to warm-up before the parade. There were five other trombones beside me...three in eighth grade and two in seventh...though out of the eighth graders I think one is quitting, one doesn’t seem enthusiastic about band (or really anything...no offense to that one person) and one is switching to French horn for concert band! I practically know nothing of the seventh graders, but all the trombonists don’t seem to hold their instruments up high enough...so they’ll be whipped into shape during band camp in August ;). Anyway, it seemed like no time had passed before we were lining up to go march down Market Street...and just like the Disney parade, I didn’t feel well prepared (marching-wise) and out of shape (since I didn’t have gym at all the second half of the year and instead everyday the beginning of the year...). I didn’t do as well as I should have during the parade, but I think I played well during the Memorial Day service afterward. During which we were supposed to play America the Beautiful, but the announcer just started singing without us! It was actually quite funny...but moving on, after the service, we hurried back to the school, got changed into Hawaiian shirts, ate pizza, then scrambled on over to Willow Park where we were to perform in the jazz band, which I believe I also did well in. And finally at 2:30 in the afternoon, we could return home and I spent the rest of my day off finishing my art final.
And now, all I have to stress over is
(Very Important) Things I Intend to do over the Summer:

Yup, Monday was a very busy (and hot) day. And summer is lookin' to be busy, too.
Hay, you posted! I bet no-one holds their trombone as high as you. Cool that you have fellow trombonists for once.
RABBIT, RABBIT!
Yes, cool that there are others playing trombone!
I always enjoyed the Memorial Day festivities in Your Little Town. I actually make special trips down there to experience it every few years.
LEARN TO DRIVE??? Scariness.
Hi :-) I'm just following the Pez convoy over here from Doug's place.
I used to love being in the band.
sounds like you have a pretty busy summer planned! Have fun.
Wow! A new post by my grandbaby. Good one too.
